Please reassure me about DS having a general to have 2 teeth out on Monday!

My DS, 5, has been having lots of problems with 2 of his back teeth and has been on a waiting list since November to have them out under general anesthetic - he appointment is on Monday and I am worrying about it. Sure he won't be out for longer than 5 minutes or so, but really worried. Can anyone reassure me with their experiences. And does anyone know if they will give him a needle or gas (it is being done in the hospital).

Thanks!

You will be asked to go through with him while they put him under, it will be gas, and he will be fine

He's going to be allright. It's inhopsital and they'll be keeping an eye on him.

Thank you totaleclipse! He had to have a filling in one of the teeth as a temporary measure just before Xmas and had the needle in the mouth - think that has put him (and me!) off needles for a long time.

I am also 24 weeks pregnant so am hormonal and worrying about everything, probably more so than usual.

my ds(5) had two teeth out with sedation last year. they used a needle and he was out quickly. it took about ten minutes and he came round really quickly and was back to his usual self within an hour.
