Anyone had a pregnancy rash (PUPP)

Hi I got pregnancy rash when I was about 36 weeks pregnant and it was a nightmare. Thankfully it cleared up a few weeks after my ds was born (he's now 7 months) but I've noticed recently that when my legs get hot the rash starts to come back and the itch is terrible again. His anyone else experienced this and does it ever go away?

I got it just after dd was born and it was hell, I have never been so itchy in my life. I had it everywhere apart from my face. Awful.

It went after about 8 weeks iirc, i was prescribed antihistamines and steriod cream which helped a bit but I think in the end it just went on its own.

Yes, I have had this also. The GP couldn't pinpoint it to anything in particular but I know how awful it is. I could spend an entire evening tearing my legs to pieces! The only thing I found that helped was either cold flannels and/or Lanacane cream.

Thanks cheesyfeet & earplugs it's nowhere near as bad as it was I just wondered if anyone else's came back and if this was normal!!

Mine came, went, came back again and then went for good - across the course of a couple of months.

Hope it doesn't stick around prawmsmum - most people think "a rash - nothing serious" but coping with it and a newborn is hard. DD was a reasonably good sleeper (for a newborn) but the rash kept me awake far more than she did. I scratched myself raw in my sleep. It was just awful.

I found that cool baths with emollient oil helped - keeping my legs cool and not letting the skin dry out seemed to be the key.

You really do have my sympathy.
