Who's doing the Race for Life this year?

I need a fitness goal and I decided that I would do the 5k Race for Life in Glasgow on June 10th. I have talked a friend into doing it too and we are going to try to train together. We will do 2 training sessions during the week by ourselves then get together at the weekend to train together.
Anyone else fancy joining us? {http://www.raceforlife.org\Find a race and join up here}

I'm running - 13th of May for me I think.

Have built up to running 1.8 miles already. Just need to nearly double it now

Me - I am - on 24th June !!

Got to work out a training programme now !!

What time of day do you get out and train Stripey? I am thinking of trying first thing in the morning but part of me thinks that might be a bit mad and will I stick to it?

I go first thing in the morning at a weekend. If its in the week then I walk DD to school and then run straight from the school gates. Unless I'm working an early shift, in which case I have an rest day.

If I didn't do it first thing I'd never do it.

Lilliput · 08/03/2007 21:26

Do you eat before you go out first thing?

I'm doing it, coincidentally signed me and the dds up today. Ours isn't til 15th July.

I usually run first thing - literally straight out of my bed about 6am. Only once it's light at that time though. It's hard to get started, but once you're out it's great.

Just stick to the gym in the winter.

I'll be in Stirling on 10th June
