I get a nagging pain in the left side of my womb. Not every day but it's uncomfortable.
The fitting went well and I bled heavily for about 2 weeks afterwards, now I am not bleeding at all.
Anyone any ideas please?
Is it just settling down or something?
A bit worried.

LOTF (if I can be so familiar), I think I know the answer to this one only because I have been reading Mirena info. by the bucket load in the last week with a view to using it.... apparently ovarian cysts are very common at the beginning, and apparently resolve themselves all the time. I guess if it was me, and it was still an issue by the weekend, or got much worse, I'd get to the GP etc this week, just in case it's something rather than nothing.

hth...

I had this the other day, but it went away.
I've had my coil in for around 8 months and I couldn't really feel it, but I knew it was there iykwim.
Its alright know though, but if your concerned get back to you GP.

thanks.
i also read somehwere about cysts developing, hoola describes the feeling better than i.
it is gone now btw.
are the cysts harmless then, or do i need to get this thingwhipped out if i want kids in the future? not trying to be neurotic but if there is a chance they can damage my 'equipment'....
cyst is an awful word...

had my mirena for 17 months now, it is fab..took a month or so to settle, and after 6 months, my periods were disappearing, and then disappeared !!

pain did settle

i don;t think the sort of cysts you get with it are damaging, they will be benign, if you have any doubts, then speak to your GP or family planning clinic....

it is very effective contraception...if you want more children, it will need removing obviously, i donlt think it affects short term fertility...

They generally don't recommend mirena for women who intend to who have more children in the future as it can reduce your fertility - don't know why though. I don't want anymore children hence why I've got the mirena fitted (plus problem periods, not being able to take the pil and hating condoms...)

i lose masses with my periods and get laid up for 3 days with it, which was fine before i had kids....
i was on the pill before ihad ds1 but after 2 pregs in quick sucession and the gain of 5 stone, she wouldnt prescribe them again lol though i have lost a stone and a half since. [smug emoticon]
she said it can be removed at any time, if i dont get on with it or if i want more kids in a few years or something and normal fertility returns quickly.
