not officially diagnosed yet but spoke to on call dr who said it's likely due to swelling on neck etc.

so fat lot of good that vaxination was then.

and to make things even more interesting, neither me or dh have had mumps so interesting times ahead esp for dh.

That is SOOO NOT FAIR.

well still swolen this morning but only on one side. dr said that often they don't get it on both sides esp if been vaxinated.

he's fine in himself though and is upset he can't go to preschool.

am going to take him to gp today to get it confirmed so I can warn preschool as obviously I guess they have to tell the other parents.

so tell me again why is it I bothered getting him vaxinated?

There is no justice where vaccination is concerned. My dh caught measles from the measles vaccine when he was a child!

Poor DS Sadly no vax is 100% guarantee; hence the boosters I think. Hope he is better soon.

The community paediatrician we saw last year beleives DD contracted measles at the same time as having her MMR - coincidence, rather than from MMR IYSWIM. We had no confirmation of it being measles at the time though, thought she was reacting to MMR.
