My eldest son has chicken pox and my youngest son has got a spot on the back of his neck that looks like an insect bite. it's been there since friday, hasn't changed and he hasn't gained anymore. he is fine in himself but the doctor says that it is chicken pox.

surely he'd have them all over wouldn't he? like his brother has got. or be ill?

eldest one's spots started friday night and none of them have scabbed at all, he's getting more all the time and none of them seem to be looking any better.

we're using calamine and piriton and keeping him cool but he's so aggrivated poor thing.

anyone else know of it definitely being chicken pox but with only one spot??

any help appreciated

I am pretty sure ds had one spot for about two days before the rest of his came out, but that does seem quite a long time, doesn't it?

my son was about 11 when he got chicken pox. he had three spots and never got anymore.

a week later the baby was covered in them.

i thought he'd at least get a few.it sounds nasty but i want him to come out in them soon as its esier to look after them both at the same time with it and have the time off work than have to go through it all twice.

he's scratched himself a few times today but he hasn't got any spots where he's scratching.

eldest boy is in a horrible state por thing, there on his head under his hair, inbetween his bum cheecks and other areas! he's got 2 on his eyelid and one in each ear as well as all over his body.

i just feel m keeping little one off school for no reason!

my dd had one spot for about four days before the rest came out and when ds got them, I was at doctors and doctor told me that lots of people get one spot and that's all.

(he then went on for about twenty minutes about a vaccine being available in the states, but the bloody nhs won't let us have it.....I only went in for a depo jab!)

southeastastra · 05/03/2007 18:12

i know i was surprised too!

mumandlovingit · 05/03/2007 18:16

thank you. it gives me relief to know that im not the only one who's sat here and waited!

i keep checking him everyday. god knows how he'll actually be if they do come out.he's fascinated watching his brother scream and shout when im putting clamine lotion on him! we have to use a small piece of chocolate everytime as bribery. the poor thing is so pset and in tears.he doesnt feel well poor thing.

little one is full of beans and taking the mickey saying he hasn't got spots. looks like he could have soon though if he definitley has got it!

Hi there,

My dd was exactly the same - 1 spot on the back of her neck for 3-4 days and then 30-40 spots appeared on face and body. Hope for a speedy recovery for your ds's!

mumandlovingit · 05/03/2007 21:27

thank you for your messages.my eldest is so itchy he's woken up and come downstairs for a little while.

youngest still has 1 spot but hopefully it'll all kick in soon so it can be over and done with roughly the same time.

poor eldest one is gettig more spots every hour and some of the heads are rubbing off when he sleeps etc.im hoping they wont scar or is it just if they pick at the scabs when they form that they'll scar? he hasnt got any scabs yet!
