My DD had her first lot of jabs a week ago and today she is snuffly and past couple of days has had a cough too (sounds a bit whooping cough like!). I am presuming this is normal and no need to take her to the GP. She has no fever and no diarrhoea. I'd love to take her to a music group for babies in about 20 mins as I think the change of scene would do her good. She seems quite perky etc. Is this a bad idea (thinking of both her and the other babies)?

i would take her

Her poor eyes are all red and puffy with gunk in her sinuses

i would not take her then....she might have conjunctivitis, which is really infectious....get some drops from care at the chemist..

personally I'd go. Kids have sniffles so often, you would be stuck in permanently if you stop home everytime. As long as you think she is lively enough she'll be fine.

It's not conjunctivitis - the gunk is in her sinuses, rather than her eyes - my bad phrasing!!!

Great - I'll take her I think - she's gurgling and smiling and I can always abort if needs be. I just wasn't sure what 'the rules' are in exposing your sick child on to others!

i think most mothers wouldn't even think twice about going tbh. If mine had a really nasty cough i would wait but i'm a bit neurotic about these things, probably.
