Right ds is ill again one or the other of them has been ill for near on seven weeks. First ds was diagnosed with chicken pox he only had a few spots and was generally ok bar a temperature the weird thing was , was the spots came as far as 11 days apart in crops. I began to doubt it was cp but then I accedently burst one on his wrist and it spread almost straight away. DD also came out with spots a couple of weeks later on her back but they didn't seem to blister on her. Two weeks later he got a bad chest infection and ended up in hospital. He hasn't been right since the spots he did have have crusted over but seemed to be itching him more. On Friday he started making weird noises when breathing this lasted for about 45 mins then he was sick and the noises stopped we took him to the drs who checked his chest which was clear I showed him the spots and he just muttered something about cp spots taking a while to go and it didn't seem to phase him that ds is still irritated by them. Yesterday evening he got a temperature a really hot one have no thermometer but very very hot to the kiss and touch you could have fried an egg on his tummy! We gave him ibruprofen at 4am and then he woke up again at 8 am with another temp shivering etc. Gave him calpol and now he's asleep. The weird thing is last night he started really scratching the lower back part of his head and we noticed 3 more spots now I know these were definately not there when he had cp. Today the spots are scabby swollen and really sore one is the size of a 5 pence piece and is quite yellow I'm worried it may be infected. Any idea what this could be? I've got the gp phoning back after morning surgery. He's 15 months old btw. Also his lymph nodes ont he back of his neck have been swollen ever since this all started weeks ago i'm really worried about him.

Hi Ledody,I cant help much but if you cannot get to GP and are worried would try nhs direct or go to casualty.DS has just had CP and was better for a bit but did get a raging temp and a few more sports a week later accompanied by a really chesty cough. He is still not right.Am wondering if he has got the fluey thing I have got cos his immune system was down from the cp.No swellings of nodes though.I would see if you can get your lo checked today as poor little mite does sound poorly.Hope he is better soon.

Ty gp just rang back and he thinks it's probably impetigo caused by the scratching and that would explain the new spots/scabs that have come up and this also causes fever. He's prescribed some antibiotics so I hope this gets it sorted!
