One very sore boob

...for the last 3 weeks, almost constant burning, achey throb that sometimes goes into my armpit and down my arm. I know the answer is see GP and have an appt booked tomorrow but in the meantime it's freaking me out a bit. I seem to have an especially sore spot when I press on rib under boob - but pain isn't worse when I breathe deeply. Ho hum, any similar experiences MNetters? (I'm 38)

Yes I posted something similar recently. It is always best to get it checked but I was told hormonal. I'm 41 xx

I recently had a sore spot on one breast that especially hurt when laying down or when pressed. The GP diagnosed an abscess which quickly went away with a course of antibiotics. I am 32.

Hope your appointment goes well. Don't freak out. Pain isn't usually primary symptom of anything sinister in the breast, but you've done the right thing in booking an doctors appointment.

Hi pirate!! Please update us! I'm a little worried I have the exact same thing - a burning stabbing pain in one area of my left boob and sore left underarm. I'm 24. I'm away with family at the mo I'm back Saturday, do you think I'll be ok to wait to make an appt Monday? Hope everything is ok!

Thanks for replies and sorry to hear you've had similar discomfort. Unfortunately I had to rearrange appt and now not being seen 'til next week. In meantime have become convinced pain isn't coming from breast but a sore spot on my rib behind/under boob. It's really sore when I press here. Read about inflamed rib cartilage. Maybe it's that? Definitely can't feel any lumps and no visible changes. Got to stop googling and reading articles about inflammatory breast cancer.
