Fractured toe

A silly trip led to a dislocated and fractured little toe. The doctor re-located it - one of most intensely painful moments of my life - and x-Ray showed it was fractured.

I've been told to wear hard-soles shoes that don't compress the toe area. I asked the doctor but she didn't know what was actually meant in real life! I have the protective boot thing for the moment but none of my shoes seem to be rigid enough in the sole to mimic this. So any suggestions? What did you wear with a fractured toe? And any other recovery stories or tips?

Lots of experience of foot pain. The answer , however painful to hear, is often Crocs.

I was fortunate enough to dislocate and fracture my big toe during the summer, so was able to wear sandals.

if you thought that was painful you should try a dislocated shoulder
