I was diagnosed with IBS aged 14 and it's only been triggered a handful of times mostly by stress. buscopan usually helps but today it hasn't worked, i'm so uncomfortable, what usually helps you?

I'm currently wheat free (on doctor's advice) and limiting dairy too... been in miserable pain for 4 months now. Waiting for blood results but am assuming it probably IS IBS but it's grim. I do think that cutting out all bread, pasta and cake type stuff helps..I am trying to be as gluten free as possible...it's been 10 days now and today has been my most comfortable in 4 months!

I can't tolerate dairy or a lot of fibre, I control mine mainly via diet,

Think you need to work out the triggers.

Ibuprofen helps when I'm having a bad attack. And avoiding bread.

DH swears by kolanticon gel. Like a gaviscon type liquid available from the pharmacist.

once triggered, hot baths and a lot of strong peppermint tea is the only thing I really find helps. Tea pigs peppermint is good, let it sit in the cup and really brew so it's strong and that seems to soothe everything. Flowers Hope it settles quickly for you.
