How do you measure your periods?

Mine seem to be getting quite long. I have a few bitty days either side of a normal period which is bothering me as sometimes it feels like I'm on for about 10 days even if the tail end is really minimal. Does this sound normal? I'm 40 and concerned about peri menopause. My PMI is very noticeable and my periods are otherwise regular, should I be worried?

Fairly normal for me these days.

why does someone need to be concerned about peri-meno?

I don't measure mine, sorry. If I did, would be from day started bleeding to day stopped, inclusive. I had a pattern of 3 days on-1 day off - another day on for many yrs, which I called 5 in total.

That day off drives me potty! Or rather, the day on which followed. It caught me out more than once!
