Bloating: which foods are best/worst?

I ate very little yesterday (dashing around, only got to eat at a birthday party I took DD1 to), but what I did eat was mainly cake and sugary stuff. My stomach seemed to have really blown up by the end of the day. Just made me wonder if sugary foods cause bloating, and if so, what foods I should be going for - and avoiding - as I seem to be prone to this?

Gluten is a main cause I can have a completely flat stomach if I stay away from it.

That sounds a bit boasty doesn't it - I mean I get a huge pregnancy sized belly if I eat any - has helped me go to the loo regularly staying away from it and cleared up excema!!

how easy is it to avoid gluten twinkie? What's it in?

Nearly everything - anything with flour in - wheat flour that is so pasta and all bread products - you can have rice though and we have rice flour pasta.

Even mayonnaise has it in!!

eek. Doesn't sound very easy to avoid ...

I find citrus fruit and tomato makes me bloat

Hmm, well didn't have either of those yesterday ...

bread definitely makes me bloat - I am sitting here with a big round belly having just devoured half a ciabatta loaf with my dinner!

also I find coffee is bad for my stomach (although I still drink it because I love it so!) and anything with cabbage in, like coleslaw. I guess it must vary from person to person.
