Very odd vaginal 'discharge' (TMI!)

I've been having periods for 17 years but this is a new one for me. Apologies in advance for the details.

I just got up to go to the loo, and as I walked into the bathroom, what looked like brown water fell out of me and splashed over the bathroom floor. Hmm

It was not thick like period blood or normal discharge. It was literally like water, but a strange brown, lighter brown than the post-period brown discharge I get. Definitely from vagina. I felt it 'falling' out. What in the world is this?!

I also went to the loo at 3am, so must have appeared since then. I'm not pregnant, period due next week.

Have you had sex recently?

wiilma · 14/01/2017 11:10

Yes - but only briefly and not as er, vigorously as usual!

Are you sure it's not a bit of left over brown discharge mixed with semen? Semen, charmingly, changes from gloop into watery liquid after a bit.

wiilma · 14/01/2017 11:49

Nope, no semen - he pulled out significantly prior to that point, so confident none went inside me.

About how much are we talking about? Do you normally have to get up at 3am to go to the loo?

wiilma · 14/01/2017 12:16

Not a huge amount, it splashed across the bathroom floor, looked about the amount that would drop if you carried a teabag across the room without squeezing it out properly. (I hope I didn't sleep walk and shove a tea bag up there Hmm the colour and consistency wasn't far off either!).. Then more when I wiped.

I get up to pee in the night about 50% of the time I think. I take medication before bed and sometimes enthusiastically drink too much with it.

Had you had any previous pain? Msybe it's s burst cyst, polyp or cervical erosion. Best to get any unusual bleeding checked out.

wiilma · 14/01/2017 13:44

No pain but I do have PCOS so could be a cyst? Thank you - my GP said something about cervical erosion a year or so ago when I had some spotting between periods, hadn't occurred to me that would be linked.
