I have always been at the lower end of a health body weight. In fact I think my GP suspected I had an eating disorder which I have never had. My mum was a small build , I don't have a huge appetite and I exercise.
Well come the last 3 years I've been putting on weight to the extent that I am now overweight but not obese. I have had to cut back sone exercise as I have bad anaemia although the Dr doesn't know why. However i cut calories accordingly. I really am that boring. I eat healthy and am careful.
I had an appt with an endocrine Dr last week and i was really hopfull Id get answers or help. He basically fobbed off my abnormal hormone levels. He said I should start calorie counting even though I explained I've done this and eat slightly less than recommended. He gave me some containers to do urine checks ,something to do with my bodies steroid production but has already told me it won't show anything.
In my appointment he talked over me all the time. He examined me incorrectly ( I used to work as a nurse. For example I'm pretty sure you can't exam someone's abdomen whilst they are sitting upright.
Basically according to him the weight gains my fault. Oh and while I remember a proper heavy period since end of November is normal and nothing to get checked out.
I waited months for this appointment for this. I'll need to go back to my GP I guess.
I dunno what I'm asking here but has anyone has a similar problem. It really is upsetting me.
Thanks if you read all this. Apologies for the length. If anything doesn't make sense feel free to say. I'm still new to MN.
