Constant lower left abdo pain

Any suggestions what it could be? GP was adamant it is IBS, gave me Mebeverine which made no difference. I have bought Buscopan today but that hasn't really touched it either.

Pain radiates from left hip area to left groin, front and back. Hurts to sit, stand, lie, turn over in bed. Frequent surges in pain level where it feels like period pain. I'm not constipated, or have diarrhoea, but do feel like I can't fart as easily as normal

Any ideas? Appt booked for Friday but I'm fed up already.

IBS is a diagnosis of last resort after other more serious bowel conditions have been ruled out e.g. Crohns, colitis, diverticulitis etc. GP shouldn't be starting with this.

It could be a myriad of bowel, hernia, gynae related things - if the pain is ongoing, don't be fobbed off.

That's sounds like when I had an ovarian cyst,I'd go back and ask for a scan.

How long have you had it for?

About a month / six weeks.

I was given lansaprozole for acid reflux that was causing laryngospasm (not that the gp recognised it from the recording I'd made). Those tablets really didn't agree with me, gave me upper stomach pains and diarrhoea. I went back and was told to take gaviscon when I needed it instead. Went back again when this pain didn't go away once I'd stopped the lansaprozole. Given mebeverine but that's not working.
