Pea sized lump in groin

Adding to my many other ailments, last night I discovered a swollen gland in my groin. I'm freaking out. I suffer from anxiety as it is, but the past 2 weeks I've been at breaKing point.
On/off pain in groin/appendix region-GP checked me over on weds and said all seemed ok but to come back if it persisted. Since discovering this 'new' lump, Ive arranged to go back this afternoon.
God, I'd love to hear some happy outcomes of similar stories, cos all my mind is screaming is YOU'RE DYING OF CANCER AND YOUR CHILDREN WILL GROW UP WITHOUT THEIR MUMMY!!

If only pea-sized it's probably a lymph node and not of a size to be of concern! It has to reach 2cm!

Could be an infected hair follicle or a Bartholins cyst- completely harmless.

It's normal for lymph nodes to swell up from time to time - you may well have been fighting a mild infection and not realised, it's only something to worry about if it's persists and doesn't go away (think you usually give it about two weeks). Best to see your GP who will simply arrange a scan if he/she is concerned but reassure yourself it is probably nothing to worry too much about.

I have several in my groin. They're small but can feel them easily. Had them checked by GP years ago and they weren't concerned. They've never gone away but stayed the same size.
