Worried - pea sized lump on baby's head

Whilst I'm sure this is nothing and me over-reacting, last night my husband found a pea-sized lump on our 4 month old baby's head.

It is to the right of the top of the head and feels a little like a vein, although obviously we have only gently run our fingers over it.

I'm on maternity leave so with him all day and I know he hasn't banged his head. On the other hand I don't make a habit of touching his head (I hate having mine touched) but my husband is pretty sure it wasn't there before.

Baby seems fine, his usual happy, alert self but has had a mucusy cold for a couple of weeks. He's feeding well but has stopped sleeping through the night but nothing out of the ordinary I think.

What do you think it could be?

It could be many things, from a fatty deposit, a birth of a strawberry mark, the fontanelles, ridges that all babies have in their skulls in the first months, etc.. But I think that if you are concerned, the best thing would be to take him to the GP to be checked. It would save you a lot of unnecesary worrying and, if something is wrong, he will get the attention he needs.
