Anyone use Aveeno body wash?

DS (11) has had eczema on and off for most of his life. The doc has suggested using his emollient as a bodywash, but I just really don't like this idea at all and don't feel it cleans as properly. I'm looking for a mild bodywash/shower gel he can use instead.

Does anyone use the Aveeno body wash? Does it foam up at all or behave any differently than a normal emollient would?

i use the aveeno almond oil moisturiser/cream and love that...assumed the oil wash thing would be the same smell, but it's not, makes me and the shower smell of damp porridge. It doesn't foam and seems quite claggy iykwim. Also makes the shower slippy as hell.

I have slightly crispy skin but not any other issues....it does stops the crisping, and my skin feels nice for a good while but I'd rather use the almond oil wash from L'occitane, it covers better and washes off more easily. AND smells nicer.

I've seen the Aveeno bath/shower oil TondelayaDellaVentamiglia but assumed I would dislike it for the same reasons as using an emollient. But there is also a body wash, so I'm wondering if that is more shower-gel like.

So the almond oil wash from L'occitane that you use...does that foam? Doesn't that bother you, I mean obviously it doesn't but I find it hard to wash with anything that doesn't foam or have a cleansing agent.

i paid attention this morning, the L'Occitane Almond stuff does froth a bit..not lots

it's definitely a nicer wash feel (really....who says that?? I should be writing soap ads!) than the aveeno porridge juice.

I've stated using dermol. I thought I wouldn't like it not being able to lather, but it definitely works. I didn't like aveeno wash even though I like their moisturiser.

My nearly 4 year old has used it for the past 3 years, it doesn't really smell in my opinion and does lather If used on a flannel or sponge, it's great for her skin as is the cream.

carpedonut I use Dermol for washing my hands sometimes (I have contact dermatitis) but again, I don't feel it's very cleansing somehow as I know it's really a lotion! I only wash my hands with it when my hands aren't very dirty! Why don't you like the Aveeno wash?

lilyborderterrier great, DS does used a sponge so hopefully he can work some lather up on that! Don't mind that it doesn't smell so much.

I down like the aveeno because I just didn't feel clean after I used it. Too oily? Left a slippery sheen on the shower tray too.

For a handwash we have Dermol wash, it's not as good a substitute for a regular handwash as the Aveeno is for shower gel.

carped are you sure you're not referring to the aveeno bath and shower oil?

Thanks panic I bought some yesterday (on offer in boots) but I did wonder if I'd be able to get it on prescription as it's expensive. Let's see how ds gets on with it today.
