Menstrual headaches

Does anyone else suffer from severe headaches when they are due on? I've only had this since I had my 2nd child (now 18 months). It feels like someone is squeezing my skull and makes me feel sick and generally unwell. It lasts for about 3 days and calms down when I get my period. Does anyone else get this? I appreciate this isn't the worst period related problem out there so I shouldn't complain really. Just wondered how common this is?

I have had this for the last couple of years, but not every cycle. I get a headache for 24 hours before my period starts. Painkillers help but it comes back as soon as they wear off. It is not nice. However, I have a list of other hideous symptoms that I have been experiencing in the past few years.

Hi Nice - I used to suffer terribly with menstrual headaches/migraines in the run up to my period. My doctor gave me oestrogen patches to use in the five days before I was due. They didn't get rid of the headaches completely, but they certainly helped.
