Wisdom tooth extracted but no pain

I was expecting pain. Lots of pain with bruising and swelling but It's been 6 hours now and still zero pain. My cheek is very slightly swollen but it's not really noticeable.

Am I just very lucky or is it a false sense of security and I will be in agony tomorrow?

Is it top? I think the nerve that runs along isn't as affected by a removal as the bottom...

Yes it was one of the top teeth. I didn't know the nerves aren't on the top. The extraction itself only took 2 minutes and the tooth was huge!

I've had a couple of teeth out in the past and they hurt for days afterwards. One time I got dry socket and that was agony. I think I was just expecting this to be really bad as you hear so many horror stories.

I've had 2 wisdom teeth out - painless both times

Oh- both top ones

I had a bottom wisdom tooth out and ended up with massive swelling and bruising on the outside of my face, it was a pretty difficult extraction apparently.

But there was no pain.

Turns out the dentist was known for moving the nerve before extraction to avoid damage so I'm guessing this was the reason.

But I had a tingling sensation along my jaw for around 2 years afterwards.

I think I would have preferred the pain if I'm honest....

I had all 4 out in 1 go. Top ones no problems. Bottom ones, the pain kicked in about 2 days later. Hope you remain pain free.

When I had my lower right out the bruising and swelling was the worst part. The pain wasn't that bad at all.

I was similarly disappointed after the removal of a top wisdom tooth. I had cleared my diary and made it v clear to DH that he would have to look after me.

Nada.
