Would you take paracetemol while breastfeeding?

Feeling rough today so considering it. The notes that come with my packet say "Paracetemol will enter breast milk. No evidence has been shown that this is harmful to the infant". DD is 8 weeks (coincidentally she has her first injections this afternoon).

not takes, as in takes every day. Taken, at some point or another over the 6 months. Oh, and I take antidepressants and have had 3 2 general anaesthetics and fed her. But I do come from the 'very very very laid back so laid back I'm almost horizontal' school of breastfeeding - I took pethidine through the pregnancy when the stones were excruciating and got all these stories about how she would be addicted, damaged etc without a doubt and she is fine.

2 general anasthetics, not 32!! 3 operations, 2 under general, one under sedation!

Fingers are not my own this afternoon!

Thanks all. Haven't taken anything yet, but may well do, as I'm not feeling any better

Very interesting paper Jimjams. The multiple vaccinations caused auto-immune disorders in mice - and it appears in humans too. And 'they' wonder why we don't trust them...

The gulf war autism similarities have been known for a while, but no money has been put into it. Sometimes I think that people don't want to know the answers in case they get the wrong one.

I have high hopes that the thimerosil/autism connection will be sorted out (whether there is a connection or not I mean). It's been out of routine vax in the States for while now so there will come a time when I guess it won't be such a hot potato to investigate. Will watch those results with interest. We're sure that thimerosil was ds1's fist hit- especailly given all the autoimmunity in his family history.

For this gulf war the MOD advised that multiple vaccinations were avoided if possible. They know.........

All the bfc's I know and certainly those running my b/f peer support course say that paracetamol and ibuprofen are fine. I can't take ibuprofen though becasue I am asthmatic.

An other vote for it. Paracetamol is fine to take whilst breastfeeding. I have taken it whilst feeding both of ours, as recommended by GP
