I was just wondering if anyone has seen any improvements to there health after taking vitamin D and at what dose?

My mood and energy levels have been rubbish these past few months and I read about vitamin D potentially helping so have ordered some but am waiting for delivery and am just hoping to hear some positive experiences if anybody has any please.

I was told after a blood test a year and a half ago that my vitamin D was low. I've been taking prescribed supplements since then. It took more than 6 months to get the Vit D level up to what it should be. I think it has helped me a lot physically. I'll be taking them for life! Expect to feel better, but it can take several months. Smile

I'm taking 5000iu and have been for a month. Feeling no seasonal moods this year which is fab and I don't feel as tired or achey

Thank you for the responses, I have noticed my mood drops in the winter and definitely more noticeably this year but that is probably because my toddlers nap is smack bang in the middle of the day so I spent last summer missing the sunniest part of the day everyday because he won't nap anywhere other than his cot Hmm

I've been taking d3 for about ten weeks and my ski n is no longer dry or scaly

Soddingepiphany · 12/12/2016 21:13

Oh that's interesting Pannus, I keep getting dry patches of skin around my eyes so it will hopefully help with that.

Massive difference. Used to feel cold all the time and had dry skin around eyes too, now all fine. Lots more energy too.

I don't suppose anybody has noticed an improvement to their immunity? Currently laid out with my second stomach bug of the year Sad

I can't be sure as I had iron deficiency too but I was ill at least three times last year before Christmas. This year so far I have been fine (touch wood).

Have a look at this thread ,

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/2421492-Vitimin-D-can-it-have-this-effect

You will see many people who have taken Vit D and its effect upon them.

I posted quite a bit there about Vitamin D , what it does, why it does it it etc . It is a long read , but should be very helpful. Particularly about the dosing levels you may need. !

         best of luck
