When can I restart methotrexate post surgery?

Sorry to ask for actual medical advice, getting hold of my rheum team is nigh on impossible!!

I had my posterior repair a few weeks back, went well, I was out of hospital the next day. I was told that so long as post op recovery was straight forward, my mtx jabs could be restarted as soon as my bloods were approved as fine. Except I then got an infection, so had to start antibiotics, then I popped my stitches and had quite a bit of blood loss, bit more of a hospital stay and I'm now waiting for more bloods to check for anaemia as I am feeling, well, shit.
Well, extra shit.

So do I carry on not taking it and waiting for approval, or am I supposed to have restarted and nobody made that clear?

To add to the fun, I have only just started to not be really ill when I take it, so no doubt my body's adapting will start from scratch again Hmm

Even I as a GP would be asking the specialists for advice on this. So please don't take advice from strangers in the Internet. Could your GP manage to get in touch with the specialist. Our specialists have an email advice line run by the more senior specialists and we get responses within 24 hours.

Oh and hope you're feeling better and get back on the methotrexate soon. Flowers

I'm happy with "you need to speak to the specialist" advice Grin - I was just worried that I was supposed to have started it already and had missed that somewhere along the line (I have Aspergers, verbal communication is not a strong point!)

Ring GP surgery, explain issues contacting Rheum and get them to chase

(Can you tell I had to do this?)

Thanks bishop :) I'll give that a go
Rheum helpline here is open for like three hours, one day a week, and then you have to leave a message! Hmm
