In so much pain

user128057 · 08/12/2016 22:45

So I have such a sore throat. It started on Sunday and seems to be getting worse.

I can't swallow properly and it's bloody agony to eat or drink anything.

I have tried throat sweets with no luck

Is there anything anyone else can recommend to ease the pain?

TIA

Water with lemon and honey. That was the only thing that helped me.

I saw an anaesthetic throat spray advertised the other day, perhaps if you go to a pharmacy they might have something over the counter like that?

Gargle soluble aspirin. I get tonsillitis sometimes and this helps (for a while)

Difflam spray from the local pharmacy, but really if it is getting worse you need to be seen by your GP as it could be an infection that requires antibiotics. Gargling and spitting with soluble aspirin helped when I had glandular fever.

I'd probably have hot water & honey and take some pain killers. Get well soon.

Also gargling warm salt water is soothing.

Thank you both of you. Will go to the chemist tomorrow and see if I can get something before I go mad with the pain

I'd go to the doctor but you can bet by the time I get an appointment it will be gone knowing my luck.
