Pain in right ovary??

I'm getting a stabbing pain in my right ovary (or where I'm guessing my ovary is!) but only when I go for a wee. I'm on birth control so not ovulating and as someone who has suffered with recurrent cystitis and UTI's in the past, I don't think it's either of those. I've had no burning or stinging, no desperate urge to pee every 5 minutes, no blood in my urine, no bladder/kidney pain. The pain literally only comes when I go for a wee! It's only been doing it since yesterday but it's been every time I've gone for a wee that it's happened. The pain eases very very slightly if I press down on the area with my hand but it's still fairly painful even then. Does anyone have any idea what it might be and whether it's worth a drs visit?

DC, thank you for asking :) yes, I went back to the drs today. He felt around my abdomen and it was much more painful so he told me to go straight to the hospital as it could be my appendix. Had bloods done and a surgeon checked my abdomen again but he said the area I said the pain was worst was around my ovaries rather than my appendix. I had low potassium and phosphate levels so got some tablets for that and I go back on Wednesday for an ultrasound. When they said it's most likely "something ovarian" I started panicking a bit as I'm terrified I've got the big C (I suffer with health anxiety) but the pain is on and off rather than totally persistent so I'm hoping that means nothing too serious

Rodmunch, that's kind of like me. They've not found anything in my urine except some protein and ketones and all my bloods were clear (think they did it all, iron, liver/kidney function etc) they found my potassium and phosphates were a bit low but the triage nurse who was dealing with me and honestly the loveliest guy ever, said they want me to go back for an ultrasound as "they don't know what the hell is going on" lol the registrar said it's most likely to be a cyst but he did mention that often the pain will start when a cyst has ruptured so I'm kind of hoping that's the case! x

I have health anxiety too and it scared me to death when it happened to me.

But even if you do have ovarian cyst/s I am sure 99% of them are not anything worrying and also if you have had full blood tests done I am pretty sure if there was anything to suggest anything worrying like the C word it would pop up in them.

It may well be that nothing at all is found and the pain just fucks off as quick as it came, like what happened to me lol. Thinking of you today ...let us know how you get on. I am sure all is absolutely fine. X
