Haven't had cystitis for years and years. A dirty weekend away with DH and im feeling rotten. Came on last night but after lots of pints of water it felt better this morning. Now it's come back with avengance and after a dash to supermarket I have some of those rubbish sachet things. Any other advice from anyone to ease the pain?!!!

Lots of water & pee. Painkillers. Go to GP or walkin to check if you need Antibiotics. I've had the worst ones which start with blood instead of pee...so my sympathies...Flowers

The blood in my wee has just arrived! What joy!

Get antibiotics asap, the sachets are no help!

Yes, even antibiotics may take 24-48 hours to give relief. Hope you feel better soon..

Ok update- have just finished day 3 of antibiotics. Although wee stinging has sort of gone, the general feeling of cystitis (if that makes sense) and pain and uncomfortableness is still there. Still 4 days of antiobiotics left but just don't feel right down there. Anyone else got experience of this?

It might be worth a trip to GP - the A/B's might not be the right ones

Hope it eases soon

I have MS and one of my symptoms due to the location of inflammation on my spine, is bladder issues, including cystitis.

I swear by Efficitrate tablets. They sell them in the chemist although you have to ask as they tend to keep them in a locked drawer.

£5 for a tube of 12 tablets. You take 2 in a drink up to 3 times a day, but I've only ever had to have 3 doses in one day once. I usually get relief from the symptoms after 1 dose...then might need to have 1 dose once a day for next day or two, just to be completely clear.

If an actual infection (sometimes I get, sometimes not) then you will need anti-biotics as well but the Effercitrate should help in meantime.
