Experience of whiplash?

So on Saturday night, at a friends house after a few drinks their decking had iced over and I hadn't noticed. Went arse over tit and landed on my back - or more accurately, my head and shoulders. I did think about hospital but none of us were OK to drive, and I didn't have any concussion symptoms.

Fast forward 48 hours. I have a bump on the back of my head, which hurts but seems to be going down. My greater concern is my neck, which feels stiff - I can turn my head fully but it hurts, more along the sides than the back. Cursory Dr Google suggested whiplash. If it is, should I get checked over? It doesn't look like there's anything I can do if it is, and it may just be a case of being gentle and shaking it off (not literally!) over the next few weeks. Would be good to know if anyone has any tips in the meantime - or indeed if anyone thinks it's more serious than I've assessed! As I say, it's painful to twist rather than impossicle, hence why I was inclined to have a few long baths and early nights and see how I get on.

You should get it checked out by a doctor or chiropractor. I'm currently at the chiropractor weekly for a whiplash injury caused by a very minor car shunt three years ago. At the time my neck hurt, but I didn't seek a professional opinion on it. It gradually got better over the following weeks. Until recently, when it has flared up again. My chiropractor says if I had got it sorted properly at the time, I wouldn't be having problems with neck pain now. Good luck Smile
