Internal scan - pain?

Hi all,

I had an internal scan yesterday, I think it's
called a transvaginal scan, basically to look at my ovaries etc as part of a fertility mot.

Turns out I have polycystic ovaries which has been a shock, and has really upset me to be honest - even though I know it doesn't necessarily mean I'm doomed fertility wise.

Anyway, the scan didn't hurt but ever since I've had bad cramps like period pains. I woke up last night with them at 3am and had to take pain relief / get a hot water bottle. Just wondering if this is normal or not? I'm definitely not due on as I'm only on CD9.
