Why do I have sore boobs?

Just that really.

It must be a fortnight now and the level of soreness varies slightly through the day. It's not really really painful, but enough to be annoying and to be careful when hugging someone. I occasionally get slight soreness just as af is imminent, but this is more uncomfortable than that.

Does anyone have an idea what this is?

To answer the first question I'm sure I'll be asked, no, I'm not pg. We are ttc, but this started soon after af finished (which was normal) and I had taken a negative test a few days prior to that.

If anyone can shed any light on this, I'll be very grateful .

If you are sure you aren't PG, new bra?
I have one where the underwire is a slightly different shape and although it feels just the same after a couple of hours I do get achey boobs.
...but as you are ttc I'd POAS just to be sure ;-)

No new bras. I'm not exactly well padded up top and have never had problems with underwires etc. In fact, I tend to take my bra off at the first opportunity (much to my mother's shock when she realised I did this!).

I don't have a stick to pee on, but will get one later just in case. I'm 99.999% sure it's not that though, I'm only about day 22 in my cycle and this started a few days after af finished. That is some speedy work if so!

On the plus side, I swear they are bigger and trust me when you're my size every little helps!

Also, I'm pretty well versed in pgs. I have a dd and have since had 3 pgs that ended in mmc between 8 & 14 weeks. From my dd who was a 'one month wonder', it has now been over a year ttc.

I'm sure it must be hormonal in some way though.

Are you on the pill? If I forget to take mine or I'm a few hours late my boobs can get really really tender!

No, not on the pill, haven't been for years.

Oh well. Hoping they will get the message and chill the hell out soon!

We were also TTC and on about day 20 I started feeling sick and had very sore boobs however all tests were negative, I tested the day after my period was due as it didn't turn up and it was positive. I put mine down to PMS at first but it turned out that I actually was pregnant so it is possible to have some symptoms before testing positive.

I get horribly sore boobs if I take any form of vitamin b (discovered when the gp told me to take vit b to relieve PMS boob pain ) even vit b rich foods. Could it be something like that if you're taking TTC supplements?

I haven't, ShowMe. I know, I'm a bad mnetter! The thing is, peeing and sticks has become a rather emotional thing over the last 3 years of mmc and now a long time ttc. I only do it when I'm really sure it's worth it. Last month af was 3 days late, even for cycles that vary a few days either way which was why I tested. I'm always both gutted and relieved whether it's positive or negative and am in a bit of a confused flap for a while after.

So long story short, I've put it off, and I've let myself do it because I know it's such a long shot this time.

I'm on high dose folic acid and omega 3 but no vit b kanyes. What food is rich in vit b? I don't think I'm having anything different but will have a think, thanks.

I've noticed it in some fortified foods and things like sea weed extract which I had bought for making stock. It might be worth keeping a food diary if it persists before you get your bfp.

Without meaning to be the voice of doom or scaremonger but I've had sore boobs at odd points in my cycle (post period, pre ovulation). Both times I was pregnant but had had what I thought was a period.

Both pregnancies ended badly (ectopics). Not for a second suggesting that if you are pregnant it means the same thing but I would urge you to poas so you know.

Or bad bras. Or age. Over the years my boobs have run the gaumet of pains throughout the second half of my cycle. They have killed, not hurt at all and everything in between. Were awful in the 5 years we were ttc, fine for the few years post dc and now post dc have a life of their own. I'm like that girl on mean girls who can forecast the weather with them....

Have you changed your diet at all? My boobs are agony the morning after I drink wine. It's the worst hangover symptom, and is even caused by a single glass. I've had to move to gin.

When you said your last period was normal are you sure?

I do like a glass of wine Sweary, though I haven't had one for over a week now. I hope it's not that! Although I'm pleased for you that you found an acceptable solution

Loveyou, normal as in no lighter/heavier than usual, same length etc. Cycle varies nowadays from 29-32ish days and this was at day 35 I think which isn't unheard of but was enough to get me to test beforehand.

I have decided I will get a stick to pee upon today, as I figure putting it out of my mind will outweigh my reluctance. So thanks all for being patient with me
