contraceptive implant

hi iv had this contrceptive implant in now for 1 year and i still have irregular bleeding .sometimes up to five weeks long doctor says it should sort itself out . does anyone else have this problem.i thought my periods would stop altogether

I have the implant and still get the irreular bleeding, although it slowly but surely seems to get better....(think I may hvae jinxed myself)....I ahve had it since October 05, so, almost 1 1/2 years now...I was also hoping for the stopping of periods, hohum!
Must admit, if it starts again wiht 1 week on 1 week off I shall have it removed. BUt at the moment I seem to ahve at least a normalish cycle.

ok ill give it another 6 months and see then
