Dd1 was at the dentist yesterday for her check up. Her adult teeth are coming in all crooked at the front on the top and bottom because her baby teeth haven't fallen out. the adult teeth have just grown through and pushed the baby ones out of the way but they are still there.
On her top teeth the baby teeth have just disintegrated but there are still little bits left. and on the bottom the baby tooth is pushed forwards and shows no sign to disintegrating just yet.
I asked the detist if her teeth would straighten out once these baby teeth had finally worn away etc and he said that she had a class 2 bite and would probably need some sort of orthodontic treatment later on. So I take it he meant braces.
Dumb question now, do you have to pay for braces or are they done on the NHS? If you have to pay how much roughly would they be, obviously we're talking a few more years yet before any treatment is needing done, but I'm just wondering if I should start saving for dental treatments.
Oh and he also managed to get a peek into dd2's mouth and said she also had a class 2 bite, so could end up going to same way.
