My face is in agony can the doc give me anything for this while I'm pregnant?
I've not taken anything for it yet but this is the fourth day of feeling like I've been kicked in the face and it's making me miserable

If its any use, i am not pg but still breastfeeding, doc gave me antibiotics for same prob last week, seems to have worked.

I have been doing steam inhalations with a few drops of olbas oil in it to help clear my passages - have a middle ear thing at the moment - and taking paracetamol for the pain. It seems to be working. They can certainly give you antibiotics whilst you're pg, but whether it's a good idea or not probably depends on how far along you are. How many weeks are you?

frazzledazzle · 13/02/2007 11:25

I'm 25weeks.
Will taking 2 paracetamol be fine 1 won't touch the pain.

They looked horrified when I said I was only taking 500mg. Even at my early stage of pg (7 weeks), they said taking a whole gram was fine, which I think is normally two tablets. The one thing they did say was to absolutely not take any nurofen...

Get antibiotics. I keep getting sinusitus (sp?) and nothing else shifts it (I'm 36 wks)

expatinscotland · 13/02/2007 15:25

I had chronic sinusitis whilst pregnant w/DD2 - I have two bad attacks a year whilst not pregnant.

Tried steaming my face, Vick's, Olbas oil, etc.

See your GP. Mine wound up as an infection and I took antibiotics to shift it.
