Abscess under arm - how to manage drainage?

Have an abscess under my arm (started a week ago, got put on antibiotics on Tuesday) which is now draining itself. That's good cause I was told there was a 50% chance I'd need to go to hospital, BUT it's sore and messy...

Any suggestions on how to best manage it? Am off sick today so could go buy gauze or something? At the moment just doing kitchen roll in between hot flannels and did a mepore dressing/plaster for overnight.

I am the queen of armpit abscesses Wink had surgery on mine in August
Get some gauze or aquacel - the latter is a dressing that turns to gel as it absorbs
Softpore dressings over the top or opsite are pretty good
