Seriously! How the hell do you get rid of piles and how long does it take?

I had them while I was pregnant. The cream from boots really really helped. Instant relief!! How long have you had them? They can become 'strangulated' as such, can you gently push them back in?

ohidoliketobe · 28/10/2016 21:41

Anusol ointment. Preparation h wipes. Plenty of fluids.
I had them in the lasr 10 weeks of both pregnancies and they went after 10 days or so. Midwives in post natal ward did me surgical gloves filled with crushed ice which I sat on for 10 mins to number it. That really worked when they were so bad that I couldn't sit down.
They were honestly worse than childbirth

ohidoliketobe · 28/10/2016 21:41

Numb. Not number.

Mishaps · 28/10/2016 21:43

Two things:

  • keep the traffic friendly! - in other words make sure that you take a mild stool softener, dulcolax or similar.
  • spray the shower head at them - blessed relief.

Prunes and Anusol. Lie on your side and raise your knees when you poo. Don't strain, don't spend longer then 5 mins on the loo. warm baths.
They're absolute funders you have my deepest sympathies

Sweets101 · 28/10/2016 21:45

Sorry not lie on your side on the loo, I mean in bed and rather then sit on the couch lie on your side.

ShelaghTurner · 28/10/2016 21:45

Lie on your side when you poo? 😖

ShelaghTurner · 28/10/2016 21:45
Grin

Get a few tablespoons of frozen peas in a ziplock bag. Blessed relief. You can refreeze them but make sure you mark the pack clearly (with pen)

togetherlikeglue · 28/10/2016 21:53

Germaloids works well. Nasty painful buggers.

Imsickofnamechanging · 28/10/2016 21:54

I was mentally picturing how you lie on your side.....then raise your knees...then do a poo Confused. That's quite a position.

Payitforward55 · 28/10/2016 22:20

Got the wipes and cream, but this is around day 5 I was hoping they would be gone by now! I could cry.

sonlypuppyfat · 28/10/2016 22:27

You have my sympathy I'm in agony with them now

Craftycakey15 · 28/10/2016 22:28

I ended up getting some prescription stuff, Proctosedyl, from the GP which brought it right down. I had suppositories and cream. I stopped the suppositories after a week as advised and carried On with the gel for another week now but it still hasn't gone completely , although massively shrunk. My baby's due any day so I was thinking of getting a repeat prescription as labour will prob make it worse!

helenatroy · 28/10/2016 22:34

Am in agony with them too and 8.5 months pregnant. They have started bleeding recently which as you can imagine is very attractive.

Payitforward55 · 28/10/2016 22:34

Oh Crafty poor you! Yes get the repeat prescription so you have it ready.
