Baby teeth at 40!

I'm at my wits end with my teeth, I have 4 baby teeth left and I'm 40!

2 of these baby teeth cause me nothing but problems, they are at the side, about 4 teeth round so losing them would be easy to see as it's in my smile line.

There's hardly anything to them anymore and I'm having constant visits to the dentist to get them refilled as the fillings always come out pretty quickly.

I've toyed with implants but told it's 2k each!!

Any suggestions?

I have the same - total nightmare - plus very thin enamel on the adult teeth that I do have. On the upside, I have no wisdom teeth. My father and one sibling have the same.

Only solution is implants. I was told that the NHS might help fund them if they were very far forward in my mouth - sadly mine are one tooth too far back. I have thought of offering myself up as a guinea pig for dental students training on implants (can't be worse than student hairdressers surely!) or heading off for Poland or similar!

Have you looked into a fixed bridge instead of implants? Costs a few 100s rather than a few 1000s. They file away the outside of the tooth on one side and glue a pair of teeth to it. Two baby teeth are likely to only need one adult tooth to replace them. (Or less invasive is the bridge glued to the back of the adjacent teeth but doesn't usually last as long apparently.)

Yes I've got 2 of these - well only one now. I have a big and sadly visible gap where the top one was. The other has also split in two. I am looking into implants but they are very expensive. The annoying thing is I had lots of teeth removed as a teen as I was overcrowded and if my dentist had checked it would be clear I was missing adult teeth.

Elfon I'm the same as you, my adult teeth are very sensitive with thin enamel and little fillings in most teeth where the enamel has completely gone.
I have 3 veneers at the front as they got so bad. Fed up with it.

I did read about bridges but was told it's more likely that it loosens the teeth next to it with the strain :(

Thing is I really look after my teeth, I do believe it's hereditary as my mum has all her teeth removed at 40 and my dad has partial false teeth.
