Hi there, I have always been a bit low on iron but now at 7 months pregnant, I am low enough to have been prescribed iron tablets.

I find with Floradix I get horribly constipated so Im worried the same will happen with the prescription ones.

I have read that dairy products tea, coffee and chocolate stop the body from being able to absorb iron (all of which are things I eat/drink)

Is this true?

My mum died of leukaemia recently and I don't want blood disorders to go ignored.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

TIA

Yes you're supposed to take iron tablets withorange juice as vit c helps it absorb. Tea and coffee apparently binds it.

Irontablets are horrible.

Try spatone. Heard its good.
