Endometriosis pain

Had a laparoscopy for Endo in 2012 and had mire and fitted. Had no bleeding since and the occasional twinge of pain, but just recently pain has been getting worse and thus evening I have been doubled up with really bad burning first day of period type pain on left side. No bleeding though. So bad I even went to sainsbos and got a pregnancy test to make sure it wasn't an ectopic - but it was negative and pain was always where I got my endo pain. Coil is not due to be changed til may 17, but has anyone ever found that getting it changed earlier has any benefit? Does this mean the Endo's back and I'll need another lap? Tia.

Oh gosh, you poor thing. I have endo. I've not had a lap or mirena tho, so I can't actually help with your query but I can sympathise. It's shit, isn't it?

Endo can recur; you may well have to return to the gynaecologist.

In the meantime I would keep a daily pain (note pain on a scale from 1-10) and symptom diary as this will give them clues.

I went to a talk by a well respected endo specialist and he said that he advises his patients with the mirena get it changed every 3 years rather than 5 as the endo control side of it tends to get worse after 3 years even if the contraceptive effect lasts for 5.
