Multivitamins/Berocca - any good?

I have been struggling with a virus combined with sinusitis and have been feeling so unwell. Hoping to give myself a bit of a boost so I can fight off the germs. Anyone take a multivitamin? Or I was wondering about Berocca? Any good or a waste of money? Right now I'd try anything!
Ps am on antibiotics for the sinusitis if that makes a difference.

Will follow with interest, I started taking berocca yesterday after sprouting the most horrendous cold sore this week. I have a 3 year old and an ebf 4 month old, my husband has been away for a fortnight, and I just feel like my immune system has been completely shot by this second pregnancy/ baby.

I had it first thing this morning and it made me feel quite virtuous, I was then in a healthy mindset and ate nutritious food for the rest of the day. So I think if nothing else it might have a placebo effect!

We swear by them in this house. We started taking them after ds started nursery and we all caught every illness going for months. We hardly ever catch even a cold now, pretty sure its down to them.

any multi vit would do the trick. if you are deficient in vitamins or/and minerals.
those fizzy ones often contain caffeine, which gives a quick boost but not much benefit.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't realise there was caffeine in the fizzy ones! Maybe just a regular multivitamin then.Smile

I take a multivitamin with a probiotic.

PosiePootlePerkins · 13/10/2016 21:54

Is it a tablet electric?

I'm going to try echinacea this year as I keep catching colds from DCs but they seem to wear me down more than they used to.

Shockers · 13/10/2016 22:14

I take berocca in tablet form because the fizzy ones contain aspartame. It really helps with depression.

I have been a little smug about not getting ill at all this year, despite multiple horrible bugs flying around school, but I think I'm coming down with flu today.

PosiePootlePerkins · 13/10/2016 22:16

Oh no shockers poor you. So much illness around right now. I have had to take time off work which I never do.
I will look into echinacea too.
Thanks for all the suggestions.

Berocca is an awesome hangover cure. I think that tells you most of what you need to know.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 14/10/2016 06:44

posie yes it's a tablet - I was recommended a probiotic drink (eugh) or a powder. But I take the boots multivitamin with probiotic.

Only the berrocca boost (I think) has caffeine or similar.

I discovered that Sainsbury's own berrocca is cheaper and no aspartame.

The others (other than berrocca) contain added calcium; I was taking it with my iron tablets to boost absorption which calcium lowers.

I have found it very helpful for over 10 years. B vits are invaluable.
