Kidneys - possibly tmi

In the midst of far too much going on - I've done the usual head down, get on with it and neglected myself. I clearly haven't drunk enough - my pee is virtually brown & stinks 😳

I now also have a pain across my kidney area/back so I'm assuming I've given it too much work & it's complaining!!! I'm in pain every day anyway (fibromyalgia) so for me to be noticing it, it has to be fairly big pain (my threshold has increased). Obviously I'm now being sensible and am walking round with bottles of water etc....

I want to know - is there anything that will hydrate quicker than water or boost the effects? I'm assuming also that pain killers are a no no as they'll just make my kidneys want to work harder?
Thank you x

Just be careful it's not a kidney infection. Brown coloured wee can indicate some blood in your urine which could be infection, especially as you have pain in the kidney area.

Don't mess about with natural remedies, if it's a kidney infection, antibiotics is what you need.

Sad antibiotics really don't agree with me. I mean, they do they're job, but in the meantime I'm really bleugh. Lots of water does seem to be easing it so far.... what do I need to watch out for? I'm one of "those" ignore it types I'm afraid. Like I said before I'm used to pain so I tend to put most things down to the fibromyalgia Blush

Well if it's a kidney infection you will feel pretty rotten. Kidney infections if left can be quite serious.

So it's just dark yellow wee, not brown right?
If it's the colour of coca cola you need to be going to the hospital to be honest.

Yes, just dark yellow. It's improving so all is well.
Apologies for the drama! I just felt so rough Blush. Light in downstairs bathroom is not great, and I didn't realise brown/dark yellow was so diagnostically different. I shall stay on the water. I'm never getting this way ever again!!!
Thank you for the responses.
