Just to clarify how long to keep off from school after a sick bug

Ds's school said this week to keep children off for 48 hours following a sick bug. Is that 48 hours from the very last time they were sick. DS came down with tummy ache during night and then was sick first thing and then again at 11.30ish, so does this mean he wouldnt be bug free until 11.30am friday, hence no school for rest of week.

I would keep him off for the rest of the week.

Really, oh dear. He was off on Monday because he has had a really blocked up nose and he was complaining his ear hurt, he gets ear infections often so I kept he off, was fine yesterday. Im a stay at home mum so its not a problem for me at all when my children are home sick but I really worry about them missing school. He is only 6 I know and health is more important, but I was hoping he would be ok for Friday, Im sure he will be in himself but would hate to pass on the bug to others for half term.
