My Tongue feels really really dry - what could it be?

I'm not thirsty or in need of water.

It just feels, kinda, rough/scurf-ish. It looks normal though.

no, not burned it. Am at work so not central heating.

i've felt off-colour most of today. My neck and throat hurts, but there is nothing to see at all. It's really bizarre.

I have a vague recollection of you starting a thread about tongues or gums a while back (sadly I remember these kind of things ). Actually now I think about it it was peeling gums or something like that.

CountessDracula · 05/02/2007 18:22

does it sting?
you could have burning tongue syndrome or whatever it's called

ComeOVeneer · 05/02/2007 18:23

here .

CountessDracula · 05/02/2007 18:26

oh here
burning mouth syndrome

Greensleeves · 05/02/2007 18:26

It can be a side effect of some ADs, so maybe other medications too? I don't know. It sounds nasty, anyway >

ComeOVeneer · 05/02/2007 18:27

I was thinking that about the AD's, however if you are generally feeling pants it is more likely you are coming down with something, there is plenty going around atm.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 05/02/2007 18:48

oh yes! I had that again day before yesterday actually!

Dont think its that CD but at some folk needing psychotherapy to deal with it!!!

I got a very dry mouth when I started my AD's. I still do actually. But I dont notice it. I have just started to lower my dose on alternate days, but surely that would remove the dryness? (Although it is actual dryness, not a sensation of dryness).
