Skin cancer?

My mum has just had 5 years all clear from breast cancer but just been diagnosed with skin cancer. Not sure how serious it is or whether it's connected to the B cancer. She is 83 but fit and healthy. It's a lump behind her ear. Anyone know anything about it?

Macmillan site is great for info.

All I know is that my mother has had 2 malignant melanomas removed. Both have left fairly deep scars as surgeon careful to ensure all was removed. Analysis was then undertaken to find out if it had spread, in both cases my mun's hadn't spread so no further treatment needed. She has to go for regular checks as it is fairly likely it will re-occur.
