Are these milk spots or an alergy?

My 6 week old has developed an angry looking rash on his face and general head area. He has a few spots on his shoulders also. At first I thought they were milk spots but now am not so sure, they are increasing in number and look more like a rash. How long do milk spots usually last for? I am breast feeding could something I,ve eaten have caused this? Can any one advise please?

No idea but with a baby so young, I think a visit to the doctor is mandatory. Is the baby well otherwise? I think if he is uncomfortable a quick ring to NHS direct may be the best bet.

Does it looke like teenage spots/acne? babies can get baby acne which is hormonal could it be this?

It usually just goes away on it's own tbh. It's caused by his hormones. You could try aveeno cream on it which will improve the appearance of the rash and go to the gps to make sure the rash on his cheeks or neck if he has it there isn't a fungal rash due to being damp due to dribble and bf if this is the case the gp will give you canestan cream 1 per cent which will clear it up.

thanks for advice. you would think with this being child 3 i might know what i was doing by now! It feels like i have forgotten everything inbetween kids, or maybe its that post pregnancy dizziness kicking in!
