Endometrial Ablation

Had endometrial ablation last Wednesday and was advised 24-48hrs light discharge with minimal post op pain. It's now day 4 and Im enduring excruciating tummy cramps, the like of which I haven't experienced in years. I feel nauseous a lot of the time and everything I eat is a problem as I end up with lower tummy pain. I'm going to ring the gp tomorrow but just wondered if anyone who has had this procedure experienced similar? These cramps have me heavy breathing to try and manage the pain and close to tears by the sheer intensity of pain. Is it normal 4 days after?

Anyone?

I had one a couple of years ago, pain was severe first 2 days then calmed down a lot over the next 2, a few twinges but nothing major.
If it were me I'd be going to the hospital or gp at the least if you can get in quickly.
Worst they can say is it's all ok, better to have it checked.

I had pain for about a week after but nothing like you are describing.
Had mine done almost 3 years ago and it's the best thing I have done.

Hi, thanks both for the replies. Consultant rang me yesterday and we talked it through. The heavy discharge is to be expected, apparently because they use a lot of fluid in the procedure. Also the uterus is effectively burned and with any burn it will weep until the scarring us set. The intense pain she thinks is linked to the nerves that serve the bowel and uterus which can cause referred pain. I haven't had any of the intense cramps for 12hrs now, a huge relief after the last few days!

Wonder if I could ask a question. I had this 4 weeks ago - still a small amount of mucus type discharge. Does this mean that I am still healing? Wondering when i can have sex again.
