Its a bite. Bit itchy, hard & hot, but doesnt feel terrible, just looks a bit alarming now. I feel fine tho. Took anti histamines day 1, but it got bigger and bigger anyway. Working away so its not particularly convenient to sort. Im in a hotel on a ring road with no car. Its intact, I havent scratched off the top. Anyone else get this from a bite?

Blimey!! I would take plenty more antihistamine and possibly draw around it to see if it gets bigger overnight. Maybe ask a pharmacist what they think, at some point tomorrow?

Honestly that looks a bit alarming, particularly if it is progressing. If access to a doctor is a problem, I would suggest at a minimum getting a pharmacist to take a look and see whether they can recommend something you can purchase directly.

To keep track of it, try tracing the outline in your skin with a pen now and check if it is advancing further in a few hours or overnight.

If you're sure it's a bite then yes, you really do need it seen to imo. Or try ringing nhs111.

Yes, you do unfortunately. You could try a pharmacy first - that may be easier? I've needed antibiotics for some and not others and mine go like that. Do you have a temperature or feel unwell? If so the definitely doctor, otherwise my doctor recommends to ice (cold flannel), elevate and keep cool. Keep taking the piriton or similar and if you don't feel unwell or have a fever get to the pharmacy first thing. If you do have a fever it may be more urgent so you should probably call the NHS 111 people and ask for advice. I feel your pain. Feel better soon.

Thank you everyone. There's a retail park further along with a boots so that will be my port of call in the morning. Def no fever. Quite glad u ladies are awake :)

Take a good look at it and make sure there isn't a red line travelling up your arm " Lymphangitis" it my indicate blood poisoning from the bite. Contact a doc now if you see a line.

If there is no line you can go to a pharmacy tomorrow. They may still recommend you see a doctor for antibiotics if they tjink its infected.

Check your glands too - underarms and throat for any swelling. If you've swollen glands call the NHS 111 people tonight. Please keep elevated. Let us know how you get on!

I occasionally swell like that from bites. The chemist recommended anti histamine tablets and cream

Hope it is not itching too much!
