Hand Foot and Mouth - high temp after 4 days

DD3 has had HF&M (blisters came Saturday, temp came Sunday night) and thought she seemed fine this morning so off she went to playgroup. On collecting her though, she was sleepy and said she felt cold. Slept for 2 hours, wakes up with high temp again. She also has a cold.

Normal for H,F&M or worth another phonecall/trip to GP? Opinions anyone?

Sorry didn't see this before.
When dd had it, she had real flu-like symptoms, hot and cold, shivers, nasty cold.
Really don't think I've ever seen her as unwell as that (she was 3.6 then, is now almost 10).
I seem to remember she was quite unwell for at least a week and took another week to really get over it.

Not sure if this is helpful, but i had this as an adult from wiping a little boys nose at nursery.

I was told to stay off work but cos i had to paint the bathroom i did it when i was off - boy did i set myself back!

I felt dreadful for a couple of weeks and exceedingly tired. Hope your dd is feeling better very soon Emmylou - if in doubt, take her to the doctors.

Thanks both - you've helped explain quite a lot.

DH took her back to Drs this morning just to check her over and make sure there was no other reason she might still be unwell.

From what you both say, it does sound like up and down temp, tiredness and not eating as much as usual might be normal for a while after the main HF&M infection has subsided. I'll just give her more time and try and get her to take it easy over the w/e.

Thanks
