can you advise me re : ds1

ds1 (11) was ill over the weekend.

vomiting
temperature
headache

had stoppped vomiting on monday but stayed off school as temperature was still up and said he stil had a slight headache and had also started with alot of sneezing and snot.
stayed off tuesday (yesterday) too.

said he was o.k this morning and he wasn't hot so, although still snotty went to school.

now, tonight, he hasn't eaten his tea and his temperature is up again. he hasn't complained though, but, he doesn't really.

so, should i be keeping him off school tomorrow or not and is a doctors visit in order?
a temperature would indicate he still has a problem , yes?

just taken temperature and he's actually hotter than he has been all along. bit worried now

My understanding is that a temperature is his body's way of trying to get rid of something nasty so in a way it's a good sign as it means that his body is already trying to fight whatever is not right.
Personally I would let your son be the judge in the morning. Obviously if he is sick again then definitely no school but otherwise at 11 he's old enough to know if he's well enough I would have thought (although my eldest is 5 so what do I know )
Also, as you now say his temperature is rising you might find that the body does it's work over night and in the morning he is tickety-boo.
Hope so.

i really thought he was on the mend as well!
didn't expect he would need calpol again.
