nasty . Be prepared for some bruising and swelling and to feel cr*p in a couple of days time as your body recovers. Can you take arnica and nurofen ? Any stitches ?

Tutter · 31/01/2007 17:10

ooh poor you

i was a wimp and asked for a ga -- had em all out at the same time

but -- no swelling or bruising

hope the same goes for you

amynnixmum · 31/01/2007 17:12

Ooh poor you. I had all four of mine removed at the same time under local a few years ago. I'd had teeth out before and didn't think it would be a big deal but I was sooo wrong. You have my sympathy

nikcola · 31/01/2007 17:30

oooh I had the 2 bottom ones out with a local - not nice. My jaw really ached for about a week

Don't tilt your head forward because that makes it worse.

Hope you feel better soon

OMG OMG OMG I have dentist on friday (just for a check up) but i know i'm gonna have to have work done and i'm dreading it. Do they not knock you out to have teeth removed then???

LIZS · 31/01/2007 17:38

ww not necessarily unless you are having 4 out at once or they are awkwardly set. dh had a ga and he suffered afterwards for days .

wurlywurly · 31/01/2007 17:39

i have never been scared of going to the dentist and cant really work out why i'm scared of going, BUT the thing that freaks me out is i suffer panic attacks and would just rather be put to sleep then be awake.

LIZS · 31/01/2007 17:42

Some dentists can offer sedation for more significant treatment (was offered that with root canal work last week). Chose not to as felt recovery time and feeling spaced out (I suppose like G and A in labour) wasn't going to help me.

cheeryface · 31/01/2007 17:45

i really feel for you. i had two of mine out at the ospital whilst being awake and it was horrid.
they pulled the first one and with tears falling i said forget it, your'e not doing the other.
the nurse was very nice and talked me into having the other out but i felt extremely ropey afterwards for a fair few days and for some reason a bit depressed.

poor you

wurlywurly · 31/01/2007 17:50
