Cracked nostrils - what works?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 26/08/2016 13:00

I have really sore nostrils. A split at the bottom of each nostril, hardly visible but so annoyingly painful!

Vaseline doesn't work neither does coconut oil. Today I found some Body Shop hemp oil cream - too early to tell if it's working yet. It all feels so drySad

Has anyone had the same and found a soothing cream?

I find sudocreme excellent for stuff like this. Smooth on a good layer overnight x

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 26/08/2016 13:05

I have sudocreme ,I can't remember if I've tried it, I'll dig it out tonight!

On the inside, or on the outsidey bit?

There is a cream called Happinose if you want something special?
But I just use EA 8 cream for things like this - I think it's ace.

Or a (needs to be prescribed) antibiotic cream called Naseptin if you think it's infected and your GP agrees?

Abetes · 26/08/2016 16:24

Another vote for Sudacreme here. Seems to cure anything!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 26/08/2016 16:24

It's on the outside. Not infected. EA 8hr didn't work- unusually as it usually does. I'll look at Happinose, thanks!

I can't remember the name but the purple nipple cream you use when you are breastfeeding really helped me when I had cracked lips.

TheSpottedZebra · 26/08/2016 16:56

Lasinoh? That's good for me too.
I'm odd, as I find sudacrem really really drying.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 26/08/2016 16:58

Oh cracked nipple cream makes sense do I get that in Boots?

Was just coming on to say the purple nipple cream too.

INeedNewShoes · 26/08/2016 17:04

I used medicated chapstick on all cracked skin. It's amazing!

Due to an ordering error misjudgement I've ended up with 48 of them Grin
I'd be happy to pop one in the post to you to try it (they'll expire before I get through them!).

magimedi · 26/08/2016 17:07

ELizabeth Arden8 hour cream - it's a wonder potion for all sorts of skin blemishes.

AwkwardSquad · 26/08/2016 20:31

La Roche Posay cicaplast, or Nuxe Reve de miel baume levres. Wonder balms for any sore bits!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 27/08/2016 11:10

I got the nipple cream- bloody hell, it's pricey! Anyway, just shoved some up my nose and I cannot tell you how much better it feels already!! I have no idea how women manage to breastfeed with cracked nipplesShock

INeed- if this doesn't work I'll take you up on your kind offer, thank youFlowers
